Want to work with me but don’t think you can afford it? This one is for you.

Hey love.

I get it.

Money is one of those things that we just never feel like we have enough of.

This is true if we have a million dollars in our bank account or if we only have two.

From my 10 years in practice, I’ve learned this sort of between-the-lines kind of truth:

Anytime we say “I can’t afford it,” we usually mean one of these things:

  • I don’t understand it’s value.

  • It’s not a priority to me right now.

  • I’m not comfortable investing in myself.

  • I don’t believe I’m worth it.

  • I’m not brave enough to ask for the payment arrangement I need.

There may also be a handful of us who literally mean:

  • I seriously can’t afford it. I crunched my numbers, did my budgeting, and just can’t figure it out. I don’t have the dollar amount in my bank account, and I don’t have access to credit or loans or assets family support that could help me pay for it. I need to put this on hold for my future self.

But I’ll be honest with you — that last justification is pretty rare. Why? Because when we want something — or, know and trust it will genuinely enrich our lives in a way we can’t find elsewhere we simply find a way.

This is coming from a person who has lived in poverty most of my life. It wasn’t until the last 10 years of running my business that I’ve been able to escape from my own “lack-traps” and find the pathways to freedom, even under systemic oppression, becoming a trickster and a shapeshifter and a magician in the face of the wide range of circumstances that are strategically placed to limit me. At some point I just decided I was tired of assuming hopelessness, overwhelm, and despair would always win.

Let me be clear, I’m not telling you to jeopardize your health, safety, or basic needs to work with me. Full stop.

I am just asking you to consider this question:

Are you willing to accept the fact that your freedom may cost?

Your freedom from these dominating systems, limiting lifestyles, and models that don’t work for you doesn’t come without sacrifice. Without commitment. Without you setting the intention to place your time, energy, resources, and attention towards where you are experiencing the most suffering, and making the conscious decision to alleviate yourself from it. Your freedom won’t come overnight.

Your freedom may cost you sleep.

Your freedom may cost you relationships.

Your freedom will most certainly cost you popularity and comfort.

Your freedom may cost you professional accolades, family approval, or being a person who “fits in.”

Your freedom may cost you healing.

Your freedom may cost you your whole life.

And as dramatic as that might sound or seem, I want you to understand, the stakes really are this high.

My coaching program is not a “ticket to freedom.” That is to say, I’m not selling freedom, because I don’t think it’s ethical — or possible.

What I am selling is the most accelerated, abundant, lush, and easeful path to freedom that exists for you in your professional life. I am selling entrance to a trap door that no one else knows about, that will help you find the third way.

What you pay for values-aligned, results-promised coaching is one of those things your freedom may cost.

I am selling my guidance, as a person who has traveled the path before you, who knows the dangers ahead, who is ready to take your hand.

I am selling my expertise, as a person who has accompanied hundreds of travelers on this journey before you.

To remove ourselves from the binary of buying and selling altogether, let me also put it this way:

I am offering you life in exchange for life.

So. To the person who doesn’t think they can afford it, who really doesn’t understand it’s value, I want you to look around your life and ask yourself where you’ll be in 5 years if you don’t change the things you are most unhappy with. How you make money (and how much you make). What you put your gifts towards. Where and with whom you spend most of your time. Now imagine where you could be in 5 years if you take the time to make serious changes.

Ask yourself: Do I value giving myself all I need to thrive?

To the person who doesn’t think they can afford it, who is really saying it’s not a priority to them right now — you’ve got my complete and utter respect. Only you know what’s a priority in your life and what’s not, and I commend you for knowing your boundaries, as you clearly do.

But/and/also, I want you to take a moment and assess what you consider a priority. Is it wealth-building? Is it survival? is it spiritual development, therapeutic healing, or soul growth? Is it getting your kids through school, saving for retirement, or paying down your debt? Is it your health, your overall wellness? Is it a sense that you have finally fulfilled what you were put on this Earth to achieve? Is it purpose? Then, I want you to consider that working with me actually addresses every single one of those areas. It gives all of your priorities new life.

The difference is truly whether or not you want to work towards your priorities with or without support.

Whether you want to get there alone and too exhausted to experience the fruits of your labor or if you want to get there energized, well-resourced, ready for all the blessings your new life has to hold.

If you want it to take a really long time or if you want it to move quicker. If you want it to be pull of pain, suffering, and pushback or if you want it to be full of connection, love, and forward momentum.

Really. The choice is yours.

To the person who says they can’t afford it but are really not comfortable investing in themselves — I 100% get it. It took me years to learn 1) what an investment even is and 2) how to make a worthwhile one that really mattered to me. Developing this discernment is hard. And yet, I believe you can do it.

The truth is - we are always investing in ourselves, all the time.

And we are always investing in thoughts, ideas, feelings, values, and ways of being, whether we consciously comprehend it or not. For example, each time that you take a walk through the park, you’re investing in your relationship to nature. Each time you refuse to believe another world is possible, you’re investing in your own oppression, suffering, and domination. It really is that clear.

I want to invite you to take a moment and reflect on what an investment is, to you. Define it in your own words, and think of it — not just financially — but spiritually, energetically, emotionally, even socially. Think about the type of results a “good investment” might generate for you. Then, imagine the ripple effect that might have on the world.

I want you to know this: it matters whether you choose to pay $30,000 for one year of education at a University that supports genocide, that has upped tuition rates by nearly 120% in the last few years, to take a bunch of classes that are already outdated and won’t help you survive in a world on fire, or whether you choose to pay $30,000 for one year of whole-hearted, 1:1, trauma-informed, liberatory education that is completely tailored to you, that literally is constantly adaptable and never expires. In one scenario, you’re paying for your own oppression. In another scenario, you’re paying for your freedom, and setting yourself up for a life of completely different results.

I’m a one-person team, a real human, someone who loves and cares for you and does really healing things with my money — mostly, things like living a sustainable, well-resourced life. When you pay me, your money goes back into our communal ecosystem. It literally supports more life. When you pay corporations, AI programs, or big scale businesses that see you as a number instead of as a whole human, you invest in exploitation, violence, and greed. When you pay a small-scale business, you invest in quality. You invest in relationship. You invest in what actually works.

Again. It really is that simple. That clear.

To the person who doesn’t believe they’re worth it, I want you to know — you are. That’s it. That’s all that’s needed. You just are.

To the person who knows they can make it work in some creative resourceful way that isn’t present on my website but isn’t brave enough for ask for the payment arrangement they need, I want to encourage you to reach out.

Understand this: I’ve never said “no” to a well-meaning potential client, eager to invest in their growth, who emails me saying they want my services, with a clear financial offer that states exactly what they can afford, and in what installments — even if that amount is different than the cost of services reflected on my website.

I always — and I repeat — ALWAYS — have this space for negotiation in my practice.

And finally, to those of you who seriously can’t afford it — just know I see you. I admire you. I’ve been there. Sometimes, I’m still there. I’m cheering you on in the spirit realm. I hope we have a chance to work together in the future.

If this changed your mind, heart, or soul on anything, give me a shout. Seriously. Email me at M@ConsultWithM.Com from a place of clarity and confidence to see what I can offer you. You might be surprised.

Ok. You are now free to go back to using “I don’t think I can afford it” as an excuse for everything without giving it much thought. Have fun!!!!!!

With love and care,

M.
