Why Traditional Business Coaching Hasn’t Worked For You Before — And What to Try Instead.
Let me paint a picture for you:
You invested hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars, showed up each week, and listened to a highly trained professional tell you everything that’s wrong with your business, while offering you feedback on all the areas you should adjust for optimal results. They claim to know the exact steps to get your business back on track. They come to each session with a certainty that feels relieving — each week, you think…Thank God I won’t have to do all this work by myself. But at the same time, that certainty can also be a bit unnerving. You probably already know what I mean, but in the chance that you need a refresher, I’ll explain.
At some points in your process, you feel your gut churning, almost as if to say: That’s not right, or, That just won’t work for me. But because this person is the “expert” you’re supposed to trust completely, you never voice your hesitations out loud. As a result, you end up going along with a process that you only 50% agree with. You do your best to implement the changes and incorporate the Business Coach’s advice to the best of your ability — afterall, they come highly recommended and are supposed to be the best in the game. But as you start to make the shifts, you feel further and further away from your integrity. You feel a discomfort that is incredibly difficult to place.
Suddenly, you’ve got the makings of a high-performing, high-functioning business — which is, of course, what you’ve paid the coach for. By that logic, you should be satisfied. You should feel complete. The only problem is, you don’t.
Months after working with a traditional business coach, you find their approach isn’t bringing you the results you seek.

At best, our businesses become exploited cash cows devoid of any real meaning or landscapes of drought that no one frequents, because they can sense we have nothing of real value left to give.

Your business is supposed to be alive.
The culture of your business is supposed to radiate your aliveness, and be an incubator for your wellbeing — not death. It’s supposed to be a living, breathing, love-filled thing that brings purpose, meaning, and abundance to your life and to the lives of all people it touches.
Your business deserves to be nurtured, encouraged, and supported into its most natural, flourishing expression. And as its primary steward, so do you.
Traditional business coaching so often misses the mark is because it focuses on conditioning, forcing into compliance, or grooming raw material into a model that is easily legible by our dominant culture. A model that reflects exploitation, numbness, and greed.
